ReLOVE with Purpose: Repurposed Fashion & Art Class
Learn how to make a difference on the planet and in the community using fashion and art in my ReLOVE with Purpose class that will be held once a month OR weekly!
In each class you attend, you can choose ONE fun project or skill:
- Learn the basics of using a Sewing Machine. Bring your machine or use mine.
- Upcycle 1 small canvas tote purse
- Create 1 pair of earrings
- Create 1 necklace
- Upcycle your gently used white t-shirt or jeans...AND MUCH MUCH MORE!
Please let me know in the “notes” section or email me which project you’d like to do.
Project Examples:
- Painting, designing, & hand-sewing or gluing fabric on a small canvas purse OR t-shirt.
- Transform your white T-shirt into earrings or a necklace using paint, thrifted jewelry, fabric, copper wire, and more.
- Learn to use a sewing machine + create a hair scrunchy or keychain.
What's provided:

🎨🖌️Paint, brushes, denim fabric scraps, thrifted fabric, hand-sewing needles, thread, thrifted beading, and most jewelry supplies are provided for you to use and create in class ♥
What to bring:
- If you want to upcycle clothing: Bring your gently used white t-shirts OR light denim jeans.
- If you want to make earrings or a necklace, bring your old/unwanted jewelry that you'd love to take apart and repurpose. (optional)
- If you want to learn how to use your sewing machine, bring your own and let's practice. (optional)
- If you know how to use your sewing machine and you're READY, bring some fabric you'd like to use to make a pillow, scrunchy, or small tote bag.

This class is all about upcycling thrifted materials and tapping into your creativity through exploring different ways to make sustainable fashion and art all while helping the planet. You'll learn a wide range of techniques that I have gathered through years of training and research. It's important to note that my personal styles and designs (such as my denim earrings, wire earrings, button earrings, arm cuffs, clothing, tote bags, purses, or other MARA AMAR fashion designs/statement pieces) should not be replicated or duplicated in any way. Finding and creating your own sustainable techniques, styles, and designs is highly encouraged.
